THE EXPERIMENT

This piece was inspired by my music partner and friend, Peter Viitasaari.  I asked him what his concept of God was, and he said that he thought God was a scientist who had fallen in love with his experiment, and couldn't keep himself from intervening.

Clockwork, artwork,
web of life?
God spoke, and created . . .
what, exactly?


Are we an experiment?
Somehow, unexpectedly,
did God fall in love
with her own reflection?


If I am an experiment,
perhaps God is in love
with me.
